Streets in Berlin: Torstrasse
Mulackstrasse, Bergmannstrasse, Kastanienallee… in Berlin you can find some streets that in one way or another are quite special. Maybe it’s the architecture, the cafés and restaurants located there, perhaps it’s the shops… Or it’s possible that just the whole atmosphere catches your eye. In the beginning of our blog, we talked about Kurstrasse and the captivating buildings you can find there. Today we’re going to talk about Torstrasse.
First called Strasse vor den Thoren, this street had several names before becoming Torstrasse in 1994. It’s a quite long road located in the north of Mitte, under Prenzlauer Berg. Who knows if because of that, you can run into these good-looking young people dressed in these cool clothes and complements such as vintage glasses and trendy bags.
Torstrasse is full of charming shops you can pop in on. That’s the case of Jean et Lili, an awe-inspiring and adorable shop where you can find from complements to your house to notebooks, soaps and tea. Furthermore you can also go to Paul’s Boutique, if you’re looking for second-hand clothes, or Lunettes Selection, if you want to have the cutest vintage glasses. Maybe you want to stop by Mein Haus Am See and have a coffee with some chocolate or lemon cake. After that you might want to take some pictures in the Photoautomat next to Rosa Luxemburg Platz. And if you’re lucky to know any member of the Soho Haus, we recommend you to have dinner there every monday (yes, it’s half price!).
During this week, we’re going to write about some of these places. We hope you enjoy it as much as us!

Berlin a great city I spent 4 years there when it was still divided by the wall.
