Jean et Lili Heimwerk

IMG_8069

Lovely, sweet, charming, captivating, mind-blowing… it’s difficult to put into how we feel about Jean et Lili, our second recommendation in Torstrasse.

It’s one of those nice boutiques with so many cute and adorable articles. The perfect spot if you are looking for unique furniture, decorating items and if you are in the mood for crafting. Or basically, if you just simply have a weakness for all this beautiful stuff, like us.

They sell from country style furniture and nostalgic home accessories to recycled notebooks, stationary and even clothes, jewellery and beauty articles… so many beautiful things that all in all create one unique style and personality. Besides, everything is so well done and with so much love and taste.

They describe themselves as a Heimwerk (Home Factory) with a Shabby Chic Style, also known as Bohemian or BoHo. This means incorporating vintage, recycled and found items of furniture, floor coverings, windows dressings and fabrics. It was in fashion in the 1990s and it’s popular again due to the DIY and green living trends.

Most of the furniture is handmade by themselves and can be personalised. The other products are manufactured around the world, mostly in France, that could the reason of its French name.

They opened the shop in Torstrasse (Mitte) last November, but the one in Kreuzberg was opened 7 years ago. You can also find them in Prenzlauer Berg.
