Cafés in Berlin: Mein Haus Am See

3

There are many ways of discovering new places: someone tells you, you read about it on a guide, a blog posts it,… or maybe you have just passed by many times but you never got the chance to get in. Perhaps one day, as you are walking again next to it, it starts raining cats and dogs and you need to cover yourself somewhere. That’s what happened to us last week when we were walking through Torstrasse. We finally had the perfect opportunity to go to Mein Haus am See!

Neither a house nor on the see, Mein Haus am See is a quite well-known café located in Brunnenstrasse, next to Rosenthaler Platz. Its spacious dimensions and its high roof make of it an enormous room that you can genuinely contemplate if you decide to take your seat upstairs.

The lights and projector create an atmosphere bolstered up by their music selection. Cracked walls, old tables and chairs, and a filled big bookshelf create a pleasant space where you can have a coffee, catch up with friends or just chill out for a while. Either one or another, we really recommend you to eat Kuchen (cake) when you go there. They are just delicious! And at night, you can order any of their cocktails, long-drinks or, of course, a German bier. Once you are there, don’t hesitate to go to the bathroom, it’s well worth it.

You can check their website or their Facebook to get to know them better and see which is the event of the day.
