Bookshops in Berlin: Buchhandlung Moritzplatz
Some days ago we stumbled across this amazing Bookshop in Moritzplatz, and we had no doubt that we had do include it in our list of favourite Bookshops in Berlin.
Buchhandlung Moritzplatz, as its name already says, is located in Moritzplatz, Kreuzberg, in the awe-inspiring builing of Aufbau Haus, a 17.000 m² centre dedicated to the cultural and creative industry.
The bookshop goes totally along with this new building: spacious, bright and with a modern look. In this roomy space of 170 m² you can find a really complete offer of books, around 8.000 titles from novels, poetry, politics, history, economy, art, design, architecture, Berlin-city, as well as English- and Spanish-language literature or even children’s and youth books. We were so impressed by the wide variety they have!

You can pleasantly take a look at the books while seated in the comfortable sofas, the atmosphere is so calm and relax. What’s more, there is a espresso bar just there too, if you feel like having a coffee or a snack.
We had a wonderful afternoon in the bookshop, we stayed there until they were closing! And we could even spend more time there! They have so many beautiful books! The staff was also so nice to us, explaining to us all about the history of this new building, we would definitely explore it with more time soon.
Finally, we couldn’t help leaving without buying anything, so we bought ourselves a book of our beloved writer Keri Smith: Guerilla Art Kit, it’s so inspiring!

All the bookstores you’ve posted about look so wonderful and modern. I miss getting lost in bookstores like this… in Japan the bookstores aren’t nearly as nice and I can’t read the books anyway!
We are happy you like them Elisabeth! Are you in Japan? I would love to get lost there! It must be so different! Hope you can make it some day to Berlin to visit all of these Bookshops!
